Museum Archive: Vintage Hofschneider Red Eye junior, 2/5oz Brass / Red Eyes fishing spoon #3159

Two faceted red glass beads are securely fastened into the metal body, acting as light-reflecting eyes that distinguish this Hofschneider Red Eye Junior. Tipping the scales at 2/5 oz (11g), the brass finish remains bright and polished, reflecting its 5/5 condition. Measuring 2 1/4" (5.5 cm), the classic spoon profile of product code 3159 was engineered by Hofschneider Corp. in Rochester, N.Y., specifically to facilitate slower retrieval speeds. The reverse side features crisp stampings indicating its origin as a Spinning Lure made in the USA. A silver-finished treble hook is mounted at the rear via a sturdy split ring, and the hardware appears clean and well-preserved.
