Painted in a clean white base with a bold, diagonal magenta-pink stripe, this Hofschneider classic stands out in any vintage collection. Tipping the scales at 1 oz (25 g), this 3" (7.5 cm) spoon is engineered for those slow-rolling presentations often needed to coax lethargic pike during the mid-summer heat. The namesake feature is immediately apparent: two faceted, ruby-red glass eyes are securely wired through the metal body to catch and throw light as it moves through the water column. Stamped clearly on the underside is the "RED EYE WIGGLER" name along with Patent No. 1847357 and the Hofschneider Corp. Rochester, N.Y. mark. This specimen, identified by product code 17172, remains in a well-preserved 4/5 condition, showing only minor surface wear from handling while maintaining the integrity of its hardware. A sturdy treble hook is attached via a heavy-duty split ring at the tail, ready for targeting perch or northern pike. The American-made construction is evident in the thick gauge of the metal, providing the heft needed for long-distance casting into deeper structure.
