Seneca

Seneca Tackle Company
The Seneca Tackle Company was founded in 1951 by American songwriter and music publisher C.V. "Charlie" Clark in New York City.
Key Product: The primary and most famous lure that Seneca created and produced was the Little Cleo spoon, introduced in 1953.
The Inspiration: Clark designed the lure after being inspired by the swaying motion of an exotic dancer he saw in the 1930s, who he allegedly named Cleo. His rationale was that fish would be entranced by the bait in the same way he was captivated by the dancer.
Seneca Lure Company. In the early 1980s, Acme acquired Seneca, and unfortunately, the modern Little Cleo's produced by Acme no longer featured the image of the dancer. However, many American anglers believe it was the image of the dancer that brought success and made the Little Cleo so famous and beloved.
