Museum Archive: Vintage South Bend 3 UV, 1/4oz Green UV Glow in UV light, Fluorescent spinning lure #4186

Fluorescent green pigment on the teardrop blade gives the South Bend 3 UV a striking appearance even before it hits the water. Identified by product code 4186, this inline spinner weighs 1/4 oz (7 g) and measures 2 3/4" (7 cm) in total length. The blade is clearly stamped with the manufacturer's name and size, accented by three black horizontal stripes for visual contrast. Construction includes a silver-toned ribbed metal body and a single red bead that acts as a focal point. A treble hook is dressed with a mixture of green and black feathers to create a full profile. This specimen is in 5/5 condition, showing well-preserved paint and clean components throughout the wire-form assembly. The UV-reactive coating on the blade is designed to react under specific light spectrums common in deeper or murky environments.
