Museum Archive: Luhr Jensen Super-Duper 503, 1/8oz fishing spoon #14855

Chrome plating provides a bright, reflective base for the prismatic tape insert on this Luhr Jensen Super-Duper 503. Sized at 1 1/2" (3.5 cm) with a weight of 1/8 oz (4.3 g), this specimen carries the product code 14855 and displays the classic "U" bend construction that identifies this hybrid spoon design. The silver finish is accented by a small red paint strike near the line tie, while the prismatic "P-Lite" tape reflects a spectrum of colors. This lure is unused and remains in its original bubble packaging from the Hood River, Oregon production era. Detailed instructions on the reverse side of the carding specify that the line should be tied directly to the eyelet for casting or trolling, recommending an 18" (45.7 cm) leader if additional weight is applied to the setup.
