Distinctive stamping on the gold-toned blade reveals its French heritage and British patent, a characteristic mark of mid-century Mepps production. This 1/4oz (7g) specimen features a classic size 3 Aglia blade, contributing to a total length of 2 3/4" (7cm). The weighted body is composed of brass cylindrical segments that provide the necessary ballast for casting. Engraved with 'MEPPS 3 AGLIA' and 'BREVETE FRANCE,' the blade reflects the early manufacturing roots of Andre Meulnart’s 1938 design. The wire shaft remains straight, holding the clevis and blade securely above the brass beads. A sturdy treble hook is attached at the base, and the entire lure displays a clean, well-preserved finish typical of a specimen rated 5/5 in condition. Every component, from the French-made blade to the final assembly in the USA, shows the precise craftsmanship that made the Aglia a staple in tackle boxes worldwide. The cone rotation system ensures the blade is ready to spin the moment it begins its movement through the water.
