A striking green and orange scale pattern covers the top of this 1 3/4" (4.5cm) spoon, immediately distinguishing it in any vintage collection. Stamped clearly on the reverse is the iconic name of the Johnson Silver Minnow, a design that dates back to Louis Johnson's 1920 invention for fishing thick cover. Weighing 3/16oz (6g), this particular specimen, carrying product code 6238, is in excellent 5/5 condition and features the signature silver-plated back designed to produce a bright, white flash. The integrated weed guard over the single hook is a hallmark of this USA-made tool, built to navigate through weeds where standard lures might snag. Its construction from a specific copper and zinc alloy makes it thicker in the center, facilitating a consistent rocking motion through a 270-degree angle to direct light reflections downward and to the sides. For added visual appeal, the hook is well-suited for a pork rind trailer to simulate the gills of a distressed baitfish.
