Museum Archive: Weezel Weedless Rex Spoon, 2/5oz Red / White fishing spoon #11937

Diagonal red and white enamel stripes decorate the metal surface of this American-made casting spoon. Sized at 2 1/4" (5.5cm), the 11937 model features a weedless hook design integrated into the body to help when casting toward heavy cover. The 2/5oz (12.5g) weight provides the necessary heft for reaching specific pockets in lily pads or weeds. This piece belongs to the original Weezel Bait Co. production era, predating the brand's acquisition by Eppinger. Being unused, the specimen still features its vibrant yellow feather trailer and sharp paintwork. A small metal stud secures the internal wire weed guard, showcasing the robust USA manufacturing techniques of the mid-20th century. The original clear storage box has preserved the Red / White finish over the years.
