Stamped clearly on the nickel-finished reverse is the hallmark "DARDEVLET DETROIT U.S.A.", marking this lure as a storied piece of Michigan fishing history. This specimen, carrying product code 8764, weighs in at 3/4 oz (21 g) and measures 2 3/4" (7 cm) in length. The classic red and white striped pattern on the convex side is contrasted by the polished nickel back, a combination Eppinger pioneered to attract predators in various water clarities. You'll notice the devil head logo remains well-defined on the front, and the condition is rated 5/5, showing a clean surface with only light evidence of its age along the spoon's edges. The hardware is period-correct, featuring a treble hook attached via a split ring, designed for the heavy-duty casting often required for northern pike or salmon. Lou Eppinger’s original 1906 concept utilized the specific concave depth of the Dardevlet to generate a distinct wobbling motion during a slow retrieve. Even the line tie hole at the tip remains unmarred and free of significant wear.
