Museum Archive: Vintage Eppinger Dardevle Dardevlet , 3/4oz Red / White / Copper fishing spoon #8943

Polished copper on the reverse side marks this specimen as a traditional Eppinger creation, complete with the "DARDEVLET" DETROIT U.S.A. stamp. A sturdy silver-tone split ring connects the 2 3/4" (7 cm) spoon body to a sharp treble hook. Cataloged under product code 8943, this 3/4 oz (21 g) lure is finished with the recognizable red and white vertical stripes on its face. The signature devil head logo is clearly visible, stamped into the white central stripe. The Detroit stamping on the copper back points to the manufacturer's early Michigan history, dating this design prior to their 1959 move to Dearborn. Showing a very clean surface and well-preserved paint, the condition of this specimen is rated 5/5. It is built from heavy-gauge metal designed for casting distance and depth control in various water conditions.
