Museum Archive: Vintage Eppinger Dardevle Seadevle Imp, 1oz Black / White / Nickel fishing spoon #3686

Polished nickel on the reverse side reflects light, contrasting sharply with the bold black and white finish on the front of this Dardevle Seadevle Imp. Measuring 3 1/4" (8cm) and weighing 1oz (28g), this spoon features the classic concave oblong shape developed by Eppinger in the USA. The face is finished in a deep black with a center white stripe, accented by fine red paint flecks throughout the dark sections. Stamped clearly on the back is 'SEADEVLE IMP' along with 'DETROIT - U.S.A.', a nod to the manufacturer's long history in Michigan since 1906. This specimen, identified by product code 3686, carries a condition rating of 4/5, showing only minor paint chips along the edges while the core finish remains vibrant. A large, sharp treble hook is secured to the base with a split ring, and the line tie at the tapered head is cleanly drilled.
