Artifacts from this period carry stamps referencing specific patents, including those from 1874 and May 18, 1886. These markings, often reading "CLAYTON NY PAT USA CANADA 1874" or "G.M. Skinner Clayton, N.Y. Patented May 18, 1886," indicate that the designs were legally protected across North American markets during the company's active years.

The product range focused on metal spoons and early spinner baits intended for large freshwater predators. Among other items, the catalog included the Fluted Spoon Bait, which functioned as a spinner. These lures were often constructed with nickel-plated or silver-plated finishes. The manufacturer produced various sizes, with some larger specimens reaching 9 inches, intended for muskellunge and large bass. Many of these lures featured the "G.M. Skinner Fluted Spoon" stamp directly on the metal surface.
