Weighing in at 1/2oz (14g), this heavyweight spinner is a classic example of the American-assembled French components that made Mepps a household name among anglers. This specific specimen, identified by product code 15371, features a vibrant chartreuse blade that reveals a luminous glow in dark environments, a specialized finish designed for deep water or low-light visibility. The blade is clearly stamped with the Aglia name and size 5, the largest standard size in this series, intended for targeting larger predatory species like pike, musky, or trophy bass. The body is constructed with stacked brass and painted yellow-and-black beads, leading to a hand-tied dressing on the treble hook. This dressing consists of thick black hair accented by a sharp red turkey-quill feather. Measuring 3 1/4" (8cm), the lure shows an excellent 5/5 condition with a bright, clean finish on all metallic surfaces. The assembly utilizes components manufactured in France, put together in the USA, maintaining the high standards of Andre Meulnart’s original 1938 design. The clevis and wire shaft remain straight and unblemished, preserving the structural integrity required for the blade to rotate freely around the weighted body.
