Measuring 1 3/4" (4.5cm) in length, this white and red fly rod lure is a classic South Bend creation from the 1940s. Carrying product code 24087, the Trix-Oreno weighs a light 1/16oz (2g) and was specifically engineered to assist fly fishers in reaching deeper water levels. The design is characterized by its slender, bone-colored body wrapped to the hook with metal bands, punctuated by a bold red head. Rated at a condition of 4/5, the lure shows only light evidence of its history, with the paint and metal hardware remaining well-preserved. Historically, South Bend intended for this lure to be cast across or down running streams where it would sink naturally to imitate underwater life. This behavior proved useful for reaching trout early in the season or tempting larger fish during deep-water summer conditions. The hardware includes a small wire swivel at the attachment point and a single, upward-facing hook at the rear.
