Stamped clearly across the center of the metal body is the TRIX-ORENO identifier, a hallmark of this South Bend fly rod lure originating in the 1940s. Measuring 1 3/4" (4.5 cm) and weighing a light 1/16 oz (2 g), this specimen (Product Code 21796) features a slender, bent metal profile designed to target trout and other species when they hold in deeper water during the early season or high summer heat. The hardware setup includes a barrel swivel at the head to reduce line twist and a single fixed hook at the rear. Attached to the hook is a small, aged fragment of what appears to be a pork rind or trailer, which collectors often find still attached to these vintage pieces. In the water, this design is known to flutter autonomously like a living insect as it descends through the water column. The lure is found in 5/5 condition, with the metallic surface and mechanical components remaining well-preserved.
