Stamped clearly into the nickel finish, the 'SOUTH BEND SUPER-DUPER 502' branding identifies this specimen as a classic piece of American tackle history. Measuring 1 1/4" (3cm) in length, the folded metal body incorporates the signature U-shape design intended for light-line casting and trolling. This 3/32oz (2.5g) lure retains much of its original luster, though the red paint accents near the line tie show some honest wear. Flip the body over to find the 'PAT. PEND'G' mark stamped into the lower fold, a detail consistent with early production runs of product code 16953. Currently rated a 4/5, the metal surface displays a few scattered marks from its time in a tackle box. A single treble hook is attached to the rear bend via a split ring, completing the original hardware configuration.
