Silver finishes on the oversized teardrop blade characterize this Vintage Mepps Aglia 5 (1970s), identified by product code 11019. Weighing 1/2 oz (14 g) and measuring 3 1/4" (8.3 cm), this specimen features the classic stamped blade face with "MEPPS AGLIA 5" and patent information including British, French, and U.S. pending marks. The reverse of the blade is clearly marked "Made in France," reflecting the lure's heritage as an assembly of French components for the American market. Its body consists of four segmented beads painted in a bright yellow and red pattern, terminating in a bronze-finished treble hook shielded by a vibrant red plastic sleeve. This spinner is rated in 5/5 condition, showing exceptional preservation of its metallic surfaces and hardware. The Aglia's reputation is built on its cone rotation system which interacts with the water current, a design first developed by Andre Meulnart in 1938. Every part of this 1970s-era lure, from the brass clevis to the wire shaft, remains tight and historically accurate.
