Red and white stripes cover the convex face of this heavy 1oz (28g) casting spoon, a visual pattern that has become synonymous with American angling history. This specific specimen, cataloged under product code 0336, measures 3 1/2" (9cm) and displays the clear, crisp stamp of "DARDEVLE DETROIT, U.S.A." on its metallic reverse. The condition is a solid 4/5, showing minor signs of its age while maintaining the integrity of the original paint and the iconic devil head logo near the hook eye. Eppinger's proprietary dies give the metal its distinct oblong, concave shape, which provides a consistent wobbling motion when drawn through the water. Originally hand-made by Lou Eppinger in his Detroit basement starting in 1906, these lures eventually became so trusted they were even packed into military survival kits during wartime. A sturdy treble hook is secured to the tail, paired with a classic attachment hole at the nose for your leader or snap.
