Weighing in at a substantial 1 oz (28 g), this classic spoon showcases the longevity of Eppinger’s American-made tackle. The 3 1/2" (9 cm) body is finished in the recognizable red and yellow striped pattern, featuring a crisp "Imp" logo stamped near the top ring. This particular 11463 specimen remains in 5/5 condition, showing a beautifully preserved finish that catches the light across its smooth surface. Turning the lure over reveals the nickel-plated concave side, prominently embossed with "DARDEVLE" and "DETROIT, U.S.A.," indicating its production history in the brand's original Michigan home before the 1959 move to Dearborn. The hardware is equally well-maintained, sporting a bright silver split ring and a robust treble hook designed for heavy-duty casting. Each of these lures is struck from proprietary dies to achieve the specific oblong curvature that has been a standard in tackle boxes since Lou Eppinger began hand-making lures in 1906. The contrast between the bright painted face and the flashy nickel back provides a visual profile intended to mimic baitfish across various water clarities.
