Five red diamonds contrast sharply against the bold yellow paint of this 1 oz (28 g) Eppinger specimen. With a length of 3 1/2" (9 cm), this lure is a substantial piece of Detroit history, carrying Product Code 11583. The front face is marked with the traditional devil head logo, while the back features the deep-set "DARDEVLE DETROIT USA" stamp into the brass. This specific stamp indicates production from the era before Eppinger's operations transitioned to Dearborn in 1959.
The condition is rated 4/5, showing some light wear on the painted surface and minimal aging on the brass, which remains bright and clean. The spoon's concave design is paired with a vintage treble hook connected via a sturdy split ring, a setup built for heavy casting or trolling. Lou Eppinger’s proprietary dies give the metal its specific curvature, a design that has remained virtually unchanged for over a hundred years. The line tie hole is clean and well-centered at the narrow end. This American-made classic represents the "Five of Diamonds" pattern exactly as collectors expect to find it.
