The stamped "DARDEVLE DETROIT, U.S." on the polished nickel reverse side anchors this specimen to the legendary Michigan manufacturer's early history before their 1959 move to Dearborn. This Eppinger Dardevle, identified by product code 12981, features the iconic diagonal red and white striped pattern across its convex face. Weighing in at 1oz (28g) and measuring 3 1/2" (9cm), it is a substantial spoon designed for casting or trolling for larger freshwater predators. The signature devil head logo is clearly visible on the silver striping, marking it as a genuine piece of American tackle craft. This lure is in excellent condition, rated 5/5, with vibrant enamel and clean metal surfaces throughout. A large, original-style treble hook is secured via a heavy split ring at the wide end, while the single line-tie hole at the narrow tip remains sharp and unobstructed. This design is so well-regarded for its effectiveness that similar models were once included in aviation survival kits for the United States government.
