Stretching 3 1/2" (9cm) in length, this iconic spoon features the timeless red and white diagonal stripe pattern that has been a tackle box staple since Lou Eppinger founded the company in 1906. This specific 1oz (28g) casting spoon, identified by product code 14681, carries the distinct devil head logo on its enameled front surface. Flipping the lure over reveals a clean nickel finish stamped with "DARDEVLE DETROIT, U.S.A.", a geographic mark indicating its production prior to the 1959 move to Dearborn. The construction utilizes a heavy-gauge metal body intended for deep-water retrieval or trolling. Hardware includes a large, period-correct treble hook attached via a robust split ring at the base. The enamel finish remains exceptionally vibrant and smooth across the body, leading to a condition rating of 5/5 for this specimen. Its concave shape is a result of proprietary manufacturing dies, ensuring the exact geometry Eppinger intended for steady swimming. Small, clean mounting holes are positioned at the head and tail for secure rigging when targeting large freshwater predators.
