A vibrant red finish paired with a yellow center stripe defines this heavy 1 oz (28 g) casting spoon. Produced by Eppinger under the product code 4744, this Weedless Dardevle is purpose-built for navigating thick vegetation with its single hook and integrated wire weed guard. Measuring 3 1/2" (9 cm), the metal surface features the iconic devil head stamp, a mark of the Detroit-based legacy started by Lou Eppinger in 1906. The single hook is dressed with bright red feathers, which helps mask the hardware during a retrieve. Small paint chips are visible along the edges of the spoon and on the face, resulting in a condition rating of 4/5. The underside reveals a clean brass-colored finish where the hook assembly is secured by a sturdy central rivet. This gold-toned back makes the lure a solid choice for fishing in stained or cloudy water conditions. Unlike the standard Dardevle, this specific variant allows for casting directly into heavy lily pads or brush where predators often hide.
